Subject: “So . . . Are you from Nashville?”

Hello, my friends,

I LOVE MY NEW COMPANION, SISTER HUFFAKER!!!!!

We both just want to be so obedient, and work hard, and finish our missions strong. She came out one transfer after me and was trained by my trainer, Sister Hood! 🙂 We were unified from day one and I just love it! We’ve been on exchanges over the last few transfers, and I just really like her.

We’ve been living in a mansion this week… Basically. And the member we are living with brings us fresh fruit from her garden regularly. I am in HEAVEN. It’s way out in the sticks in a private community in Deer Park (but still in our ward boundaries) and we saw a HUGE animal outside yesterday morning. Embarrassingly enough I’m not sure what the animal was. It was a big cat. Bigger than a cougar, and it was spotted. . . . Any ideas? It crossed the road elegantly in front of our car and then jumped into the bushes. SO COOL.
However, it’ll be nice to go back to Sister Taylor’s house again this week and be closer to everything so that we won’t have to use so many miles every day. 🙂

I’ve been super exhausted lately, but it’s been great to see how Heavenly Father can use me when I just keep working, no matter how tired I am. 🙂 I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it transforms me and changes me. On Saturday I was feeling particularly exhausted, so we pulled over and asked for some extra help and guidance, then we went to contact some referrals. MIRACLES. We met Sister Hyer’s next door neighbor who readily invited us in and let us teach her about the restoration. SHE IS AN AMAZING WOMAN. Therese. She is full of faith, but struggles to believe there was ever an apostasy. We ready Amos 8:11-12 and talked about how it was prophesied in the bible that there would be an apostasy, “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,but of hearing the words of the Lord:
“And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.”
Then we invited her to study it out and pray to know if these things are true. I am so grateful to know that our loving Heavenly Father did allow there to be an apostasy, so that the contrast of the truth restored could be so clear! 🙂 I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet chosen by God.

Sister Huffaker and I got to teach the restoration and sing at our investigator, Russell Lucki’s, baptism yesterday and again the spirit bore witness to me that this is Christ’s church! 🙂 I love being his servant. Russell had to make a lot of changes to be baptized, and to see the light in him after he was washed clean was amazing. I know there is power in the priesthood.

After the baptism a man from another ward came up to me and said, “Where are you from?… I just spent a lot of time in Nashville, and you sound like you are from there.”

I guess having a trainer from the south has impacted me more than I knew. Haha. 😉

We also got an amazing new investigator this week. Her name is Kelsi and she’s 16. She was at church yesterday and she was telling everything that she wants to be baptized soon. LOVE THAT. She’s already been reading a ton of the Book of Mormon because of her member friends and she has already prayed to know if it is true! When we asked her to pray with us, in her prayer she said, “Please help me, and please help everyone here to know that this message is true. Thank you for showing me your church.”

She is AMAZING. I know that as we expect miracles like this, and pray for them, and do all that we can, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS READY TO BLESS US WITH GIANT MIRACLES. 🙂 Sister Huffaker and I are going to be seeing plenty of miracles this transfer. Scripture worthy. 🙂 I know that this is the work of the Almighty
God and with His power we can do all things. Even when we’re serving in the sticks. 🙂

I am imperfect and I realize that more and more every day– BUT I HAVE A SAVIOR FOR THAT. I am so grateful to know that I can change. Ether 12:27 “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”

I know that my Savior is making me strong. I love Him. I love being a missionary!

Keep the Faith, my friends! 🙂 Remember, God is a God of MIRACLES!
